How FinChakra treats your financial data

Plain-language answers to what we collect, why we collect it, and how you stay in control.

  • What we collect

We collect the details you give us to create your account, and the statement files you choose to upload.

From a statement we extract dates, descriptions, debit and credit amounts, balances and transaction types.

  • Why we collect it

We use this data to categorise your transactions, build your dashboard, insights and reports, and answer your questions. It is used only to provide these features.

  • How it is protected

    • Statement files are stored outside the public web root.
    • Every request is checked against your signed-in account.
    • Sensitive data is not written to application logs.
  • How long it is kept

Draft: retention periods are being finalised and will be stated here before launch.

  • How AI is used

Our calculation engine works out every number. The assistant only explains figures that have already been verified.

Statement files are never sent to an AI service. The assistant is given only verified summary figures and your question, and a third-party AI service may put them into words.

  • Your controls

    • Delete any uploaded statement.
    • Delete your account and its data.
    • Ask for a copy of your data.
  • Questions or complaints

Send questions or complaints about your data to our grievance contact. Details are on the Privacy Policy page.
